West Cumbria Motorsport Club was formed when West Cumberland Motorsport Club merged with the Workington and District Motorsport Club back in the mid 90′s. But West Cumberland Motorsport Club dates back to the early 1900′s when it was known as the West Cumberland Cycle Club. The club was then reformed after the war, and in 1923 was renamed West Cumberland Motorcycle Club and enjoyed many years organising small trials and events.

It was in the 60′s when the club started to get noticed and changed the name again to West Cumberland Motorsport Club as it was now organising stage (Fellside Stages) and night events (Peak Revs). When the two clubs merged the Workington and District Motorclub were running the Derwent Stages, and under our new club name ran this up until sadly the foot and mouth struck Cumbria and we lost our venue.

After many years of looking we finally found a venue for our next rally, Greystoke Stages, which has now been running since 2011. Unfortunately 2020 was cancelled because of Covid but it should be back with a bang on 19 September 2021. Greystoke Stages is the only single venue forest rally in Cumbria.

Greystoke Stages is held in the same forest which is used to test the Ford World Rally Cars. It is probably one of the smoothest forests around.

The Club Magazine is produced every month and can either usually be sent via email or post - but at the moment due to Covid restrictions is available by email only. The magazine will keep you informed of what the club is doing, it is full of great features such as reports and news from club members.
