West Cumbria Motorsport Club

 

Minutes of Committee Meeting held on 4^th January 7, 2016 at the Shepherd’s Hotel.

 

Present: -            Richard Barnard Stephen Dixon, Peter Lister, Russell Grant and Ian Aitken

                               

Apologies: -       Dave Culley, David Mitchinson, Kerryl Steel, Sam Steel, Pearl Wilson and Ryan Winthrop.

 

Matters Arising: - None

                               

Treasures Report:

 

CMSG/ANECC/ANWCC/SACC matters: - Nothing to report

 

Greystoke: -       Ian reported he had submitted a grant application to the MSA for funds to buy additional Greystoke equipment. Kerryl has indicated we will be getting and MSA insurance refund of £1197.93p. It was agreed this would be transferred to the Greystoke account. Ian to advise Roger.

 

Correspondence: -          None.

 

Membership: -                 For 2016. 24 so far

 

Competition Secretary: - Stephen reported the 2015 championship results are now on the web site and face book for comment before the 10^th of Jan when they will become final.

 

Events:                                 10^th Jan                 Tarmac Autotest. Richard and Russell organising. 10.30 for 11.00 start.

18^th Jan                 12 car Rally- Richard Barnard organising.

1^st Feb                  Committee Meeting.

12^th Feb                Awards Night - Waverly Hotel Workington.  Russell organising.

15^th Feb                12 Car Rally – To be reviewed.

28^th Feb                Tarmac Autotest. Richard and Russell organising. Venue to be confirmed.

5^th Mar                 Malcolm Wilson Rally

7^th Mar                 Committee Meeting.

16^th Mar               12 Car Rally - To be reviewed.

20^th Mar               Tarmac Autotest – Possible joint venture with Spadeadam – Stephen organising.

21^st Mar               AGM

 

Club Website.  Ian to put the 2016 calendar on the web site.  

 

CMSG.   It was suggested we write to all the clubs in CMSG and suggest a date for a meeting with a view to avoid clashes of dates for 2016. Awaiting the end of the year to see if we’ll have any reply s.

 

ANECC web site. Website still down so no change

 

Club Nights

1. Battle of Bannockburn car trial/Autotest.  2016. To make this a more fun type event it was suggested we consider also including a Gymkhana element. Kerryl asked to check for any permit implications - Still under review

 

Awards Night 2016. The awards night is now booked at the Waverley for Friday the 12^th of Feb 2016. Peter has to put details in the magazine. Guest to be confirmed.

 

Club Banners/Display Stands. A mock inventory sheet was shown to the Committee and from that Richard said he would keep track of equipment.  Peter to purchase new stop watches.

Autotest Venues.

1. Walkers Car Park.  To be re-considered later.

2. Moota. This site is looking a possibility. Russell to speak further with farmer.

    

Dalemain.  Ian asked to speak to John Stone to see if we could get a stand and under what arrangements.

 

Rally Sprint/ Hill Climb. Ian said he would look into the requirements for such events for the next meeting.  

 

Targa Rally It was agreed we would concentrate on other activities.

 

Social Events Such as a Pub Run/Treasure Hunt, closed to club event of a Sunday evening finishing at a Public House with pre ordered meals to greet members on their return. It was agreed we would put a date of the 1^st of May in the 2016 calendar for such an event. Done.  Pearl to run it with proceeds going to Great North Air Ambulance

 

2016 Events Calendar.  The draft version of the 2016 calendar is to be circulated and discussed further. Possible Feb Autotest and Joint Autotest with Spadeadam in March to be included. Also an August Car Show

 

First Aid Training.  Stuart Westbrook of EMMU has offered to do a first aid training session, over two evenings for the club. Ian to contact Stuart and suggest the 16^th March and the 6^th of April and ask what the sessions will cover so that details can be put in the magazine.

 

 Autotest Regulations.   Peter and Ian to send copies of previous regs to Richard so he can revise for use in 2016.

 

Any Other Business

 

January Autotest.  Cars to be numbered and run in numerical order. Richard to put details in regulations.

 

Club Championships

1. 2015 Awards. The following was agreed.

   1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd for Stage Driver, Stage Navigator, Single Venue Driver, Single Venue Navigator, Autotest Champion Overall and Marshals.

   1^st only for Out of Club Championship, Club 12 Car Championship Driver and Navigator, Autotest Classes where no one shall win more than one award , Club Male Champion, Club Female Champion and Club Junior Champion.

2. 2016. It was agreed that, with the exception of the Stage, Single Venue and Marshals Championships, one would need to take part in at least 3 WCMC organised/associated events, with one being competitive, to qualify for an award. It was also agreed that points for a non-finish in rallies would be increased from 1 to 5.

MSA 2016 Seminars for Club Officials.

The club has been invited to nominate up to 5 people to attend the seminar to be held in Carlisle on the 10^th of April.
